over too soon.
Our most integral years, the years of our development, of play, of childhood, pass by before we know it. Our friends move away, we move away, we grow apart and what is left is memories and places where we spent our time together.
Photographed at various locations in my childhood neighbourhood, little Bear perches by herself, somber, where fun, play and friendship once took place.

seasons.
Born and brought up in Southern Ontario, Canada, I have a love for the weather changing every few months. I love the different fashion, the traditions, the activities. The same cannot be said about my parents.
My parents immigrated to Canada in the 90's from India and Bahrain, two countries with very warm climates. After winter ends each year, after the last bits of cool spring rain to turn into summer sunshine, I would hear my parents calling out to open the windows to let the fresh air in. Ahh, the flowers blooming, the grass thriving, the swarms of bees and monarch butterflies that would visit the garden. And the contrast of that to "the damn cold that this country offers!" as soon as autumn gets a little too cold to go out without layers.
The recognition of this change is something that I am grateful for. It lets us appreciate what has passed and what is yet to come. Although my parents may complain about the cold, it gives us the opportunity to talk about what we love about each season and what Canada and its weather can offer to us.
I am grateful to be in the privileged position where I can enjoy the weather and have protection from harsh climate changes. With that in mind, I have represented the beauty of each season in still images.

the memories we hold.
Memories are fragments of our pasts and are integral pieces to what makes us who we are as individuals. As humans, we tend to have strong memories attached to items. We keep them around as reminders of different moments in our life. Each holds a story others aren’t aware of, but the unknown is what helps make it more meaningful.
Below are a series of photos that feature the connection people share with their treasured items through the use of colour.
